A little about me
I am a London-based Graphic Designer & Illustrator. I was born and raised in Portugal, but moved to the UK at the age of 18 to study at Manchester Metropolitan University. As an illustrator and designer, my work is a combination of both those skills. A lover of all things design, I am working to specialize as a brand and web designer. I love to draw and work with typography and I can definitely say that my favourite part of a branding project is the initial stages where I can just sketch away the concepts in my mind.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
I know it is highly cliché when to say I have always known what I wanted to do, but it's the truth. What can I do? I am a bit of a cliché. From a young age, I have always loved to paint and do all kinds of artistic stuff. My mum got me my first painting kit when I was 3 years old (yes, that is correct, just 3 I promise, she still hangs my painting on the wall to remind me of it). From there I just kept exploring all kinds of artistic stuff. By the age of 10, I discovered something amazing called graphite pencils and boy was I in love. At the time I thought I wanted to be an architect or maybe a fashion designer. Very similar as you can imagine (not). But one day I remember one of my sisters was on google and she found this drawing of Stitch from "Lilo & Stitch", and she LOVED it. She really wanted one because it was her favourite character, so as a surprise I decided to try and draw one for her. I enjoyed myself so much and in that same week, I did my other baby sister's favourite character. I can say that from there I didn't stop. For a while, I drew and drew and my passion for illustration just grew stronger. When I turned 14 I had to decide what field I wanted to study in High School, but my school at the time did not have an option for art & design so I had to find a new one. That is when I found António Arroio, one of the only 2 arts High Schools in Portugal that offers professional studies in Art & Design. And that is where I found and fell in love with Graphic Design. After high school, I knew I wanted to learn how to combine my illustration passion with my newfound Graphic Design skills so I decided to apply for a degree in Illustration. I studied at the Manchester School of Arts and found a way to express my passion for illustration and design there. I now work hard every day to build a career as a brand designer!
#CareerGoals
My dream is to specialise as a Brand and Web designer. No matter how much I go back and forth in different fields of Design, I somehow always end up going back to these two (or at least wishing I could). I love to use my skills to transmit the image and core culture of a company or brand and my Web design passion comes in just handy in the XXI century. I would love to work in a fast-paced studio with a fun and challenging team and be able to do what I love. And the idea of learning and sharing my skills in this atmosphere of challenges would be amazing. A studio full of creativity and people always up to date with the new design trends and open to interesting discussions.
One day I would also love to be able to open my own studio or travel around the world and
explore design in different cultures. Maybe even both!

My USP
I believe my unique selling proposition consists of 3 things that complement each other. Not only my expertise in Graphic Design but also Illustration, which ultimately led me to a deeper understanding of typography, and the importance of custom logos and type. Exploring all these allowed me the ability to work with a wide range of different markets, from corporate to consumer-related packaging and branding.

I am also a very curious and hard-working person. I love to learn new skills and develop the ones I already have even further with new challenges.
